I’m a translator and photo enthusiast currently located in Jyväskylä, Finland. I created The Way of the Exploding Fish as a travel blog where I could tell my friends and family about the places I visit, but while traveling I rediscovered my love for photography and decided to change the focus of this site to showcase my other photographic interests.
The Travel section of this blog features my travel photography and some occasional videos and is more oriented on story-telling in the spirit of the original blog. The Blog section is where I post other kinds of photography from stock shots to fine art photography. I also have a Tumbler travelogue which I’m mostly updating from my mobile phone on the go. You can follow those updates by following me on Tumbler, on Twitter or on Facebook.
Most of the images on this site are available for licensing and some of them can be used for free for non-commercial purposes under reative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 license. This license allows you to remix, tweak, and build upon my work non-commercially, as long as you credit the images to Sami Hurmerinta and either link the images back to this blog or add a link to this blog next to the image.
